Our practices work with a variety of medical and vision insurance plans across Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Because coverage can vary by plan and by location, our team is available to review your benefits, answer questions, and help you prepare before your visit.
Our Insurances
Medical & Vision Insurance
In many cases, medical insurance may be used for eye health concerns such as eye pain, sudden changes in vision, diabetic eye exams, or monitoring of conditions like glaucoma or macular degeneration. Vision insurance is often used for routine eye exams focused on glasses or contact lens prescriptions.
Plans Accepted
Eye Rx locations participate with a range of insurance plans. Since participation might vary by office, contact your preferred location to confirm if they accept your specific plan and how it applies to your visit.
Out-of-Network & Self-Pay Options
If Eye Rx is not in-network with your plan, or if you prefer not to use insurance, you may still be able to be seen as a self-pay patient. In some cases, we can provide itemized receipts for you to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
Copays, Deductibles, & Prior Authorizations
If Eye Rx is not in-network with your plan, or if you prefer not to use insurance, you may still be able to be seen as a self-pay patient. In some cases, we can provide itemized receipts for you to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
Insurance can be complex, and it is normal to have questions. While we cannot guarantee how every service will be covered, we can help you understand how we bill.
If you have concerns about coverage or cost, contact your preferred Eye Rx office before your visit. Our goal is to help you feel informed and comfortable about both your care and your financial responsibilities.
